Role Summary:

The position as Postdoctoral Researcher belongs to the Bioprocess business unit and is located within the Downstream Systems R&D Instrument Engineering team in Uppsala. The role is to drive the flow meter development independently in a cross functional and multidisciplinary environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this temporary postdoctoral position, the purpose is to develop a new flow sensing technology for single use applications based on the Coriolis mass flow principle. The goal is a market introduction in a near future.

Biopharmaceutical industry is currently in a technology transition towards single use manufacturing. This creates new demands on process control that needs to be meet with novel technologies. This role will help GE Healthcare drive innovation in the R&D BioProcess organization.

Close co-operation with our Additive Manufacturing Center is expected to gain advantages from GE’s investment in advanced manufacturing technology.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Generate and optimize new concepts for Coriolis flow measurement system within Bioprocess by experimental and theoretical investigations

  • Design and build prototypes for tests in bioprocess applications

  • Integrate flow metering solutions into process manufacturing systems

  • Optimize design for manufacturability

  • Build expertise in flow metering for bioprocess applications

  • Investigate potential of additive manufacturing in product development and production

  • PhD in engineering

  • Experience in vibrational analysis

  • Skilled in hands-on laboratory work

  • Multiphysics simulation experience
