On Friday 15th December , it was announced that Unilever was to sell the Spreads business to KKR and the transfer of ownership is expected to take place in July 2018 . KKR are committed to supporting the business’ growth ambition, whilst continuing to follow Unilever’s responsible sourcing policies , including working towards the goal of sourcing 100 per cent sustainable palm oil by 2019.

About the role

In this position you will have end-to-end ownership for the Nordic Finance function. You are responsible for business delivery across all KPI:s (Market Share, Turnover & Operating Profit, Cash & Working Capital), embedding a robust controls environment and developing Finance talent. As the Nordic Finance Manager, you will also play a key role as the business transitions away from Unilever and is set-up as a separate, standalone business over the coming months. During this transition it is expected that this role will provide support to other countries within the Business unit (BU).

Key responsibilities

  • Lead financial forecasting/budgeting and longer-term strategic planning processes

  • Drive robust cost control and embed Return of Investment approach

  • Active cash management to manage business Working Capital and Free Cash Flow delivery

  • Develop, implement and monitor strong internal control environment across all business processes.

  • Active risk management with a focus on driving key actions in partnership with country leadership team

  • Manage Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash processes, including Credit management, pricing and claims management

  • Local Tax compliance and reporting, in conjunction with any local advisers

  • Lead Statutory audit process and reporting, managing relationship with external auditors

  • Support Internal Audit team and drive full implementation of any recommendations

  • Manage local statutory insurance programmes

  • Ensure effective local implementation of Transition Services Agreements (TSAs) in conjunction with Unilever management


  • Good academic record with a Master/Bachelor degree in Finance/Economics

  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in a financial accounting and reporting role

  • Experience of managing change/working in a business that has gone through a transformation

  • Experience of direct line management

  • FMCG industry experience beneficial

  • Blend of commercial and technical financial accounting/reporting experience is sought

  • Fluent in English
