Volvo Group Group Accounting Specialist in Göteborg, Sweden
Group Accounting is a function within Volvo Group Reporting, Tax & Control with responsibility for the external financial reporting including related processes, such as the consolidation processes within the Volvo Group. This responsibility includes ownership of accounting instructions, time tables and structures in the financial systems and development of accounting policies (IFRS) for the Volvo Group.
We are now looking for a person to take up a position as a Group Accounting Specialist. You will be a part of accounting for financial instruments department and thereby actively participate in the development and harmonization of the financial reporting process within our area of responsibility. For this position we are looking for individuals with experience from consolidated accounts, IFRS and financial reporting in a multinational environment.
We, in Accounting for financial instruments are responsible for the accounting of all items within the finance net, as well as financial assets and liabilities within the Volvo Group. We are also responsible for important areas such as calculation of the cash flow as well as calculation of the currency exposure and currency effect for the Volvo Group. We contribute to both the annual report and the quarterly external reports. Within Group Accounting we have an open and positive atmosphere with a lot of discussions and laughter. Even though everyone has their own area of expertise and responsibility we are willing to give each other a helping hand when needed.
As a team-member you also have the opportunity to work in close co-operation with the other teams within Group Accounting as well as with Volvo Treasury , all the Truck organizations, Business areas and other functions at AB Volvo witch will give you a broad understanding about the Volvo Group.
This is a regular position within Group Accounting, Accounting for Financial Instruments located at Volvo Group in Lundby, Gothenburg. As a Group Accounting Specialist you will be a member of the Group Accounting department. As a Group Accounting Specialist you are the subject matter expert for your area of responsibility. You will contribute in Volvo Group's closing and consolidation process by ensuring a correct application of Volvo Group’s accounting policies and procedures. You will actively take part in the closing by collecting information, performing calculations and making postings in the consolidation system, as well as follow up on the outcome and correctness of your areas of responsibility. You will contribute in the preparation of external reports and also be in contact with internal and external auditors during their respective audit processes.
As a Group Accounting Specialist you continuously contribute to improve the role of a Group Accounting Specialist and the efficiency and quality of tasks performed, utilizing Volvo Group's global presence and the possibility to work in a global environment.
Critical competencies for the position:
University degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
4+years’ work experience within audit, accounting, financial reporting or similar
Experience from IFRS (IAS7, IFRS 9) and consolidated accounts
Experience from SAP or other major ERP/consolidation systems
Distinctive problem-solving abilities and communication skills
Enjoy working in teams and contributing to a positive atmosphere
All documentation is in English, why proficiency in the English language is required
Fluency in written and spoken Swedish is required
