Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a leading supplier of equipment, tools, services, support and technical solutions for the mining and construction industry, and our operations and organizations are spread around the globe.
Within Business Unit (BU) Stationary Crushing & Screening, we deliver crushing and screening equipment engineered for maximum productivity and our application expertise covers areas such as greenfield, expansion and individual or multi-equipment replacement projects. Our comprehensive Lifecycle Services Agreement portfolio covers all major processes to keep crushing circuits running. To be able to manage increasing business, we are now looking for a Regional Sales Development Manager someone who is motivated by the opportunity to lead both people and the business in a new direction. The location for this particular position is flexible: however, international travel is required and considered an essential part of the role.
As Regional Sales Development Manager, you connect the back line and the front line of the business, promoting the overall BU strategy and initiatives, setting the foundation for understanding and commitment within the Sales organization within the assigned geographical area. You ensure that we support our customers in realizing their key success factors by implementing activity plans and that follow ups are made - not only with regard to large machinery, but also in aftermarket sales and service contracts - and you always aim to exceed our customers’ expectations. You continually analyze the current market situation and actively search for gaps between customer presence and opportunities, providing the management with feedback on the market situation and status of strategy execution.
Providing support in customer-facing situations and negotiations is also part of your mission. You are involved in implementing concepts and tools for value-based selling and proactively participate in the creation and implementation of a lifecycle perspective with reference cases, strategies and concepts, converting these into sales and market plans with the Sales Areas. Your responsibilities also include the setting of EHS standards within the organization and ensure that the team is utilized in the most efficient way, by defining selection and prioritization criteria. Last but not least, you develop the team through effective performance management and coaching.
In this position you report directly to the Director of Sales Development and Support and you are an active member of the Sales Development and Sales Support Management Team.
We are looking for someone with a degree in Mining Engineering, general Mechanical Engineering, Economics, Marketing, Business, or Contract Law with at least ten years’ experience working with business development, sales and/or technical aspects within the area of Crushing and Screening. You have solid experience of the global mining and construction business, and understand market trends and requirements. You also have a strong background in heavy machinery within the mining and construction industry. It is important that you have general managerial experience, particularly of team management. Experience of change management, as well as of managing global teams across a matrix organization, is advantageous. As we act in an international setting, your communication skills in English must be excellent, with Spanish an advantage.
