Product Area (PA) Tube, within SMT, is a leading manufacturer of seamless tubes and pipes in an extensive program of stainless steels, nickel alloys, titanium, zirconium and other advanced materials. Here, the Indirect Purchasing Organization aims to generate business value by utilizing the supplier market in an efficient way. We secure commercial agreements to minimize risk factors in sourcing projects.

For Sandviken, we are now looking for a Purchasing Professional be part of the exciting journey that we have ahead of us; someone who is curious and wants to actively take part in our daily business. In this role, you work closely with the production unit´s stakeholders to increase profitability by utilizing the external spend and supplier market in the best possible way. At your side, you also have a team of operative, tactical and strategic purchasers to support you in your daily tasks. This position is responsible for indirect purchasing for several production units within PA Tube.

Job Summary

As Purchasing Professional, your primary focus is to support the production unit´s purchasing needs when it comes to investments, products and services that are unique and critical for production. The role delivers value by exploring the supplier market in close cooperation with the internal stakeholders. Your main responsibilities also include setting up local contracts and agreements, as well as managing quotations and negotiations. Additionally, you take on purchasing-related issues, lead Supplier Relationship Management for key stakeholders, communicate central frame agreements and work for compliance. Cooperating with various stakeholders is a part of your role, and you are the link between strategic, tactical and operative purchasing and the production units. You also manage the performance review, including KPIs and spend development and are able to present and analyze the results.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a degree in economics or engineering with at least two years of experience from purchasing and sourcing. Experience from a production environment and indirect purchasing (material and professional services), as well as good business orientation, are prerequisites for this role. As we operate internationally, you must have excellent skills in English, in both speaking and writing.
