Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT) is a world-leading developer and manufacturer of products in advanced stainless steels and special alloys for the most demanding environments, as well as products and systems for industrial heating. Complete customer satisfaction is the ultimate goal for our way of doing business. We are now looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to take lead in outlining the future of SMT – someone who finds inspiration in a true challenge in a highly complex setting. The location for this position is flexible, though Sandviken is preferable as the role requires considerable presence at this site.

Your challenge

In this position, you are a strategic partner to the President of Sandvik Materials Technology to protect and enhance shareholder value by ensuring depth in the figures and confidence in decision making. You are responsible for developing, monitoring and evaluating overall Business Area strategy together with the management of SMT, with emphasis on financial performance management. Included on your area of responsibility is to perform industry analysis and to inform management of political and economic factors which may influence business plans.You also play a key role in the development and execution of strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and change initiatives within SMT globally.

You are delegated the responsibility for the functional areas, business- and financial control, strategic IT and strategic new business development.

In your role as CFO, you take an active part in the management team and report directly to the President of Sandvik Materials Technology.

Frequent international travel is a natural part of the job.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a Masters’ in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent, and with a strong and broad track record from increasingly large, international and demanding CFO positions with functional experience from finance, controlling, accounting, investor relations (Capital market’s day) and performance management. You have experience in partnering with an executive management team and ideally, you have held the overall responsibility as CFO in a global business with a high degree of complexity. We see that previous experience from leading change and improvements is desirable, along with experience from developing and leading strong financial performance management. As we operate in an international setting, your communication skills in English are excellent, both verbally and in writing.
