“Process Design and Product Support” is a new section within the Downstream Bioprocessing Department (90 people) which belong to the Global BioProcess R&D (500 people). The section is based in Uppsala and consists of 10 highly skilled research engineers and scientists.

The section is responsible for development of new manufacturing technologies, process development as well as supporting our production unit with improvements in current processes. The section does also have an overall responsibility for product support.
The section will be involved in research projects, new product development projects as well as product support (eg product and process care) projects. Typical products developed from the department are chromatography resins. We are now looking for a Research Engineer who will focus on process development activities when new processes are scaled up from lab scale to Pilot scale.
More specifically will your tasks include:
Work with scale-up of chemical processes from lab scale to pilot scale
Develop batch records for pilot scale evaluation, performing risk assessments and run the method in pilot scale
Contribute in trouble shooting activities
To plan, execute and document project work to reach given objectives
Independently report accomplished tasks in writing or orally
MSc in Chemical Engineering or related fields
Experience from laboratory work, pilot scale work as well as large scale work
Good communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals and in group settings
English and Swedish as working languages
Experience from techniques for particle synthesis methods, e.g. emulsification processes
Experience of industrial development work
Good trouble shooting ability
Professional attitude to processes and routines
