Role Summary:

We are searching for a commercially experienced Global Product Manager to join the Biacore Product Management team. The main responsibility is to manage part of the Biacore system range over its life cycle by setting strategic and tactical direction for the products in a manner that maximizes revenue and profit for the company. The role involves interactions with all other functions in the company.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop a product life cycle strategy and recommend investment/discontinuation of product ranges. Manage all aspects of the life cycle starting with understanding the market needs through product development until the product is discontinued, including pricing, marketing and supply chain related topics. Maximize the company revenue and profit over the product(s) entire life cycle.

  • Ensure product readiness for sale and use including registration, labelling, logistics, technical content of data bases and web, etc. Provide the commercial team with training and ensure continued commercialization success for the product(s), including after sales support together with service. Drive focused work around value proposition and messaging with the marketing and commercial organization.

  • Define and recommend value engineering of product(s) redesign to extend the life cycle in collaboration with sourcing, R&D and manufacturing. Provide input and prioritization to R&D on requirements for support, product care and research & development projects.

  • Prepare and implement product launch plans, coordinating with commercial stakeholders to define go-to-market strategy.

  • Ensure appropriate inventory and quality control, provide leadership to quality management and ensure competitiveness of the portfolio through proactively making cost reduction recommendations

  • Provide sales demand and profitability forecasts. Support the marketing and sales organization with appropriate actions to ensure maximum return.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Strong business sense and an interest in commercial aspects are essential components to be successful in this role

  • University degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology, Chemistry or equivalent Life Science discipline

  • Proven experience in a Life Science based business, including solid experience in product management, marketing, sales or product development.

  • Experience of customer/market focused activities

  • Experience of biomolecular (interaction) analysis, preferrably experience of Biacore applications

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills (English, and preferably Swedish) as we act globally

  • Strong analytical, process- and influencing skills – ability to motivate individuals and demonstrate organizational influence

  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment; Good interpersonal skills and a positive and team oriented attitude and ability to work well with diverse, global and cross-functional teams

  • Some traveling will be required

  • Permit to work in Sweden as you should be based in Uppsala/Sweden.

The position requires an ability to absorb and handle complex information in a very structured way and to communicate this information clearly across all levels of the company. The applicant should be able to handle many tasks simultaneously and have an ability to work under both time constraints and to a high level of rigor. The ability to work well in teams is a clear requirement for success. Broad technical/application knowledge, and experience with Biacore systems and applications is highly desirable. Sales or marketing experience will be highly valued.
