Ericsson SMA Preparation Engineer HW Make Support in Stockholm, Sweden
Radio PIM Sweden produces Test Beds, early prototypes (PoC and PoP) and other demonstrators to validate and demonstrate new technology in cooperation with Ericsson Research, DURA S&T;, PDU, and Product Management. With strategic capabilities, as e.g. SMA, Wire-bonding, Analysis lab, 3D printing/scanning, CNC machines, and Test chambers, Radio PIM Sweden provides a One Stop Shop to enable innovation and Technology leadership for Ericsson. Radio PIM Sweden is also driving the Advanced Engineering Program within Supply, coordinating research and pre-development of future production and test technologies by utilizing total PIM capabilities.
We are now recruiting for the position as SMA Preparation Engineer within the PBA Prototyping department at Radio PIM Sweden. In this position, you will report to the Head of PBA Prototyping.
You will work with focus on Printed Board Assembly’s (PBA’s). As an SMA preparation Engineer (production engineer) within the PBA Prototyping Department, your task is to prepare our production systems to be able to manufacture needed PBA’s with support of “AOI & SPI equipment’s” (Automatic Optical Inspection & Solder Paste Inspection). You will also prepare our “Pick and place machines” including “Screen printing/Jet printing” and “Reflow oven/Vapor Phase”. You will also be included in the development of our production processes and to prepare products so that these fulfill Ericsson’s high demands on quality, producibility and cost. This means that you will work cross functional closely to different roles and functions within our Site in Kista as well as together with our stakeholders. The focus today is to enable the 5G prototype/testbed role out.
You will need a bachelor's degree and/or a technical degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field, or relevant work experience within the area. You also have PBA/PCB and electrical component competence. To be successful in this role you will need to have an outgoing and positive attitude, analytical skills, willingness to take responsibility and enthusiasm in facing new problems and opportunities. You have a strategic mindset, strong personal drive, a structured way in your work and are able to work independently as well as a team member. Since the job involves international contacts outside and within Ericsson, fluent English and Swedish is a demand together with good communication and writing skills.
Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Manage to prepare PBA production systems e.g. Pick & Place machines, screen printers/jet printer and reflow oven/Vapor Phase equipment’s
- Manage to prepare PBA production with support of AOI & SPI equipment’s
- Manage product & production process data

- Surface Mount Technology & Assembly knowledge

Preferred Qualification & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or a technical degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field, or relevant work experience within the area
- Approx. 3 – 5 years relevant experience is required
