The Role:

The European Sales Alignment Organisation is looking for a Proposal Manager in Sweden that will work closely with the Sales Teams to support our sales activities across Sweden and drive the procurement process in this country. The Proposal Manager assists the Sales Team by project managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle and preparing formal proposal documentation for the contracts that we bid for.

What you will do:

The focus is on delivering high quality, strategic, client specific written proposals; often with a limited time frame in a deadline-driven environment. The Proposal Manager will help to determine the strategic direction, vision and scope of the proposal; ensuring it aligns with the client goals and strategies. The Proposal Manager will lead and support major bids, preparing when a tender is in the pipeline and then coordinating once initiated. The Proposal Specialist will combine responses from cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization to create quality messaging to client questions about Cerner offerings.

Candidate must excel at managing multiple projects, including coordinating resources from across Sweden, UK and US. The candidate will be able to review final written drafts for consistent, accurate responses based on Cerner style and industry standards. Candidate must be able to develop, edit, and maintain content designed to educate and inform Cerner clients. They should have an understanding of existing EU Procurement legislation and be willing to travel to locations in support of the Tender.

The Proposal Manager will join an exciting team that continues to grow in the Sales Alignment Organisation, which may also present opportunities to support activity across Europe. What your day looks like:

  • Interacting with the Sales Team to understand client strategy, as well as Cerner solutions and/or services being proposed

  • Gathering proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals

  • Preparing the proposal presentation by evaluating text, submitting translation requests, graphics, and binding; coordinating the final product

  • Maintaining quality results by following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support database

  • Obtaining approvals by reviewing proposal with key providers and project managers

  • Being the point of contact for clients, internal teams, and partners.

  • Managing several projects simultaneously by planning, organizing, motivating, and managing resources

  • Attend Competitive Dialogue Sessions


  • Ability to travel up to 50%

  • Willing to work overtime or irregular hours as needed

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Care, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience

  • At least 2 years of proposal/bid/procurement management

  • Fluent in English and one of the following languages: Swedish, Danish, Norwegian

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in the health care industry

  • Experience with procurements lasting 12 to 18 months or sales experience
