Job Opportunity – Group Legal Counsel for Business Area Digital Services
Legal Affairs for Business Area Digital Services is a unit within Group Function Legal Affairs and the head of the unit reports to the General Counsel of the Ericsson Group. The unit is a global function, responsible for the legal support to Ericsson´s world-wide Business Area Digital Services, which provides solutions and platforms in OSS, BSS, Telecom Core, Communication Services and Cloud Infrastructure, leveraging cloud and automation technology. The Business Area accounts for roughly 25% of Ericsson´s consolidated revenue world-wide.
The main scope of work for the unit is legal advice and contractual support (e.g. drafting of contract templates for new business models, responding to RfQs and negotiating) on the customer side, the procurement side and on partnerships and other forms of cooperation.
Generally, working in this unit means that you will be exposed to a truly international business environment in the very forefront of technological and legal development.
Reporting to the head of the unit, the Legal Counsel will be expected to independently support internal clients world-wide and uphold a high service level in doing so. Equally important is that the Legal Counsel, in providing guidance and advice, shows integrity and business acumen and always takes the interest of the Ericsson Group as a whole into account.
Draft, review and negotiate agreements and other legal documents. Typical agreements are hardware purchase agreements, software licensing agreements, system sales agreements, system integration agreements, XaaS agreements, R&D; agreements and various cooperation agreements
Provide support on tenders, both on the customer side and procurement side
Independently participate in, and drive, negotiations with customers, suppliers and partners
Provide legal advice on all kinds of matters; notably specialist advice in the field of the Business Area Digital Services
Interact with and provide support to Ericsson´s lawyers located outside the head-quarters (i.e. in the Market Areas)
Support compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies and directives
Prepare and provide legal training
Monitor, follow-up on and inform about relevant new or changed legislation
Engage with regulators to learn about and, if necessary influence, coming legislation
Work proactively by developing working tools, training, templates, etc.
- Master of Law or equivalent
Experience and Traits:
- at least three to five years of relevant experience
- international experience and cultural awareness
