Ericsson Legal Counsel in Stockholm, Sweden

Job Summary:

We are now looking for a Legal Counsel in the area of Trade Compliance to provide professional legal services regarding regulatory compliance and contract drafting in that area. Group Trade Compliance is part of Group Functions Legal Affairs’ Compliance Office and the head of the unit, the Head of Group Trade Compliance, is reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer. The Compliance Office has the group responsibility for three compliance areas: Antitrust (compliance with competition law), Anti-Corruption (compliance with corruption and bribery laws) and Trade Compliance (compliance with customs, sanctions and export control laws). Group Trade Compliance is responsible for steering documents, group governance, processes and tools, investigations and key competence in the area of Trade Compliance.

The Legal Counsel shall achieve and maintain a high level of competence within the field of customs, export control, sanction and other law relevant to international trade and shall contribute to that the purpose and objectives of the Ericsson Group and Group Function Legal Affairs are fulfilled. The role as Legal Counsel at Group Trade Compliance requires proven integrity and recognized experience, skills and competence, good business understanding and awareness, and ability to support and work with Group Function Legal Affairs, other Group Functions, Market Areas and Business Areas for legal matters in the area of international trade.


  • Provide legal advice in the area of Trade Compliance

  • Draft corporate trade compliance policies, directives and instructions

  • Engage with regulators and national authorities

  • Monitor and follow up on relevant new or changed legislation

  • Draft, review and negotiate agreements and other legal documents

  • Drive defined areas of expertise or projects

  • Support all parts of Ericsson in compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies and directives

  • Provide legal training in the area of Trade Compliance

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Master of Law or equivalent

  • Min years of experience: At least five years working experience as a lawyer

  • Language fluent in English

  • Trade compliance, or trade law, experience

  • Ability to independently handle and manage legal matters

  • Business Competence: High interest, good knowledge and understanding

  • Good networking ability and social skills

  • High level of Integrity

  • Good presentation, education, communication, drafting and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to independently handle and managing legal matters

Additional Requirements:

  • The suitable candidate should be able to work independently and autonomously, feel comfortable in taking decisions and also show an interest in trade compliance or trade law. The Legal Counsel will report to the Head of Group Trade Compliance within GF Legal Affairs and will be based in Kista, Stockholm.
