Job Title: GSS Data Management and Transformation Consultant

Department: EMEA - North GSS (Sweden)

Location: Sweden

Role Purpose:

Provide in-depth post-sales technical delivery capability to Hitachi Vantara customers. Collaborate with other support functions to drive Hitachi Vantara Product and Service revenues whilst maximising customer satisfaction. Develop relationships with customers to ensure an appreciation of current and potential benefits available from Hitachi Vantara products and services in their environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design configuration, implementation and documentation of new Hitachi Vantara storage and SAN solutions for a wide range of customers.

  • Create comprehensive technical documentation and lead project delivery.

  • Deliver handover information to integration and support staff.

  • Maintain customer focus, with a can-do attitude earning a reputation of trust, integrity and high performance.

  • By request, accompany Account Managers and other members of sales teams on customer visits to:

  • Gather customer requirements.

  • Increase services sales.

  • Explain the services portfolio of the practice and its value to customers.

  • Qualify services opportunities in the practice area and assist Account Managers in selecting the appropriate service to meet their customer’s needs.

  • Identify potential issues preventing the successful delivery of services or solutions and inform Service Manager, Third Party Contractor and Customer appropriately.

  • Understand and define the range and extent of products and services that could be provided to Hitachi Vantara Customers.

  • Continually seek further opportunities for Hitachi solutions and notify Hitachi Vantara management.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction with the work undertaken.

  • Identify opportunities for improving customer care, whether internal or external to Hitachi, and raise with manager.

  • Adhere to standard Hitachi delivery methodology.

  • Participate in skills development and maintenance planning.

  • Work with specialists in support, services and pre-sales group to ensure skills transfer.

  • Comply with Hitachi Vantara policies and guidelines.

  • Perform other duties as required or directed by manager.

Technical:

  • Develop deep expertise on Hitachi Vantara products and services and current and emerging. technologies in the relevant practice area.

  • Support the Principal Consultant in designing a service and product solution based on the customer’s business and technical requirements.

  • Participate in the configuration, installation and documentation of Hitachi solutions.

  • Delivery of proactive services such as Health Checks and system optimization services.

  • Establish a dialogue with the customer to achieve trusted technical adviser status.

  • Provide technical expertise to gather requirements from the customer.

  • Identify and explain benefits of the solution to customer technical and business personnel.

  • Agree deliverables and timescales with the project manager, and deliver in accordance with this agreement.

Managerial:

  • Assist with identification, analysis and managing technical risk within projects.

  • Manage customer expectations and relationships on client site.

Financial:

  • Contribute and assist meeting project expense objectives.

  • Help to meet GSS revenue and margin targets through continued utilisation and ensuring project completion, sign off and revenue recognition.

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree educated.

  • 5 years technical IT related experience.

  • 3 years’ technical consultancy and Enterprise Storage experience.

  • At least three years’ experience within HITACHI VANTARA technologies, a similar competitor organisation, end user or IT consultancy services provider.

  • Demonstrable experience in delivering both modular and enterprise class data storage solutions.

  • Data storage Expertise in enterprise and modular class systems, data migration, storage management software, performance analysis, business continuity and disaster recovery for both open systems and mainframe environments.

  • Hands on Data Storage Design, Implementation and Migration experience with both modular and enterprise data storage across a number of vendor technologies.

  • Contribute with technical intellectual property as part of project-end reviews.
