Job Description / Information
As Assistant Legal Counsel, Nordics, the role is to provide contractual creation and management for the commercial activities executed by the Stryker Nordic Business. The Assistant Legal Counsel is required to provide competent support in the active drafting, negotiation and execution of Nordic-based commercial contractual arrangements. Additionally, the Assistant Legal Counsel will work with US and European businesses and functional units to provide legal support in connection with one of Stryker’s Franchise businesses, including the negotiation and drafting the agreements with respect to clinical trials. As part of the global Legal and Compliance Department the Assistant Legal Counsel shall engage, support and counsel colleagues in relation to such issues.
Key Role Responsibilities include:
Supporting the drafting, negotiating and finalizing a wide range of contracts executed by the Stryker Nordic business, including contracts for cross-divisional Sales and Services, strategic Tenders and Procurement.
Supporting the European Franchise business by way of negotiating and drafting the agreements with respect to clinical trials.
Building good working relationships with the relevant business and support function leaders.
Providing effective legal services for the Stryker Noridic sales division, including advisory and contractual support for marketing, sales, and indirect channels.
Providing training and education for stakeholders to ensure the proper functioning and transparency of the contractual process.
Providing accurate information and research to a supervisor regarding laws and regulations.
Providing directed support related to the development of in-house training and education.
Following internal processes.
Collaborating and communicating with colleagues, management, and outside counsel and working with outside counsel with direction.
Providing timely advice and counsel to clients.
Developing strong relationships throughout area of responsibility to foster an advisory or collaborative approach to proactive compliance.
Maintaining current working knowledge of current and emerging laws and regulations. These include, but are not limited to Stryker Corporate Policies and Procedures, industry trends and guidance on country, state/provincial or local laws.
Responding to alleged violation of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct by recommending the initiation of appropriate procedures in partnership with the business.
Making recommendations to Legal & Compliance leadership with regard to the development or revision of existing policies, procedures or systems as they relate to Acquisition and Integration of companies and Assets to attain high levels of performance and build competitive advantage.
Assisting on other matters as needed
Experience and qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ professional experience.
Generalist legal experience required and tenders process experience a strong plus.
Experience with negotiating clinical agreements is a plus.
Contract drafting and negotiation experience.
Fluency in English and Swedish language is required.
Knowledge of French a plus.
Law firm or in-house legal experience, whilst healthcare industry knowledge would be an advantage, it is not required.

Completes complex tasks under minimal supervision or guidance.
Well-developed understanding of the budgeting process and expense management.
Works with minimal supervision and instruction of more experience staff.
