Medtronic Sweden is looking for a strong competitive new colleague with a high energy level to drive the role as a Territory Manager for Medtronic’s AFS (Atrial Fibrillation Solutions) business. You are expected to meet and exceed established sales targets for your assigned territory. As part of the CVG team (Cardiac Vascular Group) you are required to develop, align and support established CVG account strategies and collaborate on cross business selling strategies that maximize the revenue and marketshare

Main job duties / responsibilities :

Selling and account support

  • Meet quarterly sales targets for the AFS business in your territory.

  • Work closely with the country Sales, Business and Marketing management to establish account strategies using the APDR management tool (iPad app part of SalesForce). Actively maintain account information and call records in support of established account specific business opportunities, CVG strategies, and Medtronic Hospital Solutions.

  • Develop account based strategies and programs that enhance physician and administrative stakeholder engagement of AFS, CVG and Medtronic strategies.

  • Exploit the many offerings from our Training Education group to organize customer training thus bringing them closer to Medtronic.

  • Regularly prepare and present a comprehensive territory management strategy that supports the achievement of quarterly sales targets, market growth and key stakeholder engagement.

  • The Territory Manager is responsible for managing contract terms and conditions, working with multiple stakeholders to ensure favorable outcomes, and be the authority on pricing strategies to gain market share.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers across the assigned territory. Stakeholder engagement includes clinical, administrative as well as key opinion leaders.

  • Must be clinically adept in support of the product. Continued employment is contingent on completion and passing of all required training modules.

  • Foster clinical networks and develops referral structures.

  • Carry out all administrative duties and all necessary reports in a timely and diligent manner, (i.e. boot stock reports, stock movement forms etc.)

  • Maintain and acquire new product, technology, market, sales tool and process knowledge.

Education / Training

  • Acquire and develop all necessary professional selling skills, in accordance with the company’s personal development program.

  • Develop and drive activities to ensure that clinical data guidelines are known, understood implemented by the medical community.

  • Responsible for ensuring that relevant hospital staff are trained on the procedures of Medtronic products, using Medtronic resources in the most effective way.

Internal and administrative

  • Using the APDR account management tool the Territory Manager is required to report all account, market and competitive information including trends and metrics in a comprehensive and timely fashion.

  • Understand all aspects of daily sales, product mix, selling prices and performance to monthly and quarterly sales targets for each account.

  • Report immediately and accurately all positive as well as negative customer or product related events (e.g. customer feedback, product and legal issues and risks, etc).

  • Use the APDR tool to plan and prepare sales forecasts by account, product and therapy for the territory along with proposed meetings/customer activities and investments.

  • Carry out all administrative duties and all necessary reports in a timely and diligent manner. Attend all required regional and national meetings.

Job Qualifications:

Knowledge/education:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the healthcare system at the territory and country level

  • Degree in Medicine, Life-science, Engineering, Business Administration or Biology or another relevant, advanced degree

  • Knowledge of the competitive marketplace

  • Work experience from the Electrofysiology Department or Cardiac Rhythm management market

Job experience:

  • At least 3 years of successful sales experience in the healthcare market. With emphasis on medical devices and/or pharmaceutical sales.

  • Experience working in a tender and contract selling environment.

Skills/competencies:

  • Proven ability to operate in a matrix environment and work effectively with the rest of the sales force, physicians and nurses.

  • Open and direct communication style.

  • Fluency in Swedish and English (written and spoken).

  • Strong competitive drive with a high sense of urgency.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on projects/duties as well as contributing to a larger team.

  • Proven track record of good judgment. Demonstrated integrity and respect of colleagues on all levels.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Valid driver’s licenses

  • Ability to travel within defined territory and internationally.

  • Willing to spend some time away from home. This can vary considerably depending on the time of year and will require overnight stays.
