Volvo Group SVP Brand, Communication and Marketing in Göteborg, Sweden

We are now looking for a Senior Vice President Brand, Communication and Marketing.

The SVP Brand, Communication and Marketing holds ultimate responsibility for Volvo Penta’s brand, marketing, PR and external and internal communication activities and oversees the development and delivery of a fully integrated brand, marketing and communication strategy in order to drive sales and to contribute to the company’s growth and profitability.

The Brand, Communication and Marketing function at Volvo Penta is a global function consisting of 9 direct reports and is located at Volvo Penta’s headquarters in Gothenburg.

The position holder will report to the President Volvo Penta and be a member of the Volvo Penta Executive Team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Translating business strategy into aligned brand strategy and communication plans

  • Provide employees with clear and consistent information to enhance the understanding of business challenges and commitment in strategic directions and objectives

  • Develop and coordinate marketing activities and material

  • Develop the brand image through appropriate communication strategy and actions

  • Secure a successful digital communication transformation aligned with current and future business models

  • Be an inclusive and inspiring leader and act as a role model. Develop and motivate people within the department as well as the global communication network

  • Attract, develop and retain talent and secure/allocate necessary resources to carry out the activities at hand

  • Bring best practices into the function

Required Competencies and Education

  • Experience of leading, mentoring and coaching teams to perform at a senior level and deliver top quality services

  • A can-do mind-set with drive and energy for improvements and change

  • Successful in building working relationships and operating effectively as a member of a leadership team

  • Extensive experience of brand management, marketing and communication

  • Passion for and solid understanding of how to use various communications strategies and tools

  • Experience in developing and implementing PR strategies and activities

  • University degree, MBA or equivalent experience and knowledge
