The Vehicle Feature Laboratory also known as VFL is one of the most versatile chassis dynos for commercial vehicles in the world today. We perform mainly fuel-, emission-, cooling performance-, road simulation- and driveline tests on trucks and buses of various brands. The team working in VFL consists of two operators closely supported by rig mechanics to deliver test results in cooperation with test engineers. There is also a lot of contact for support with several other persons, functions and entities, both external and internal, like sub suppliers, electrical-, mechanical-, software support and calibration and maintenance teams.

Main Responsibilities

You will be responsible to deliver the complete assignment, covering everything from preparing the test object and rig, understanding the test engineer’s objectives and implement the right rig operating sequences and delivering the project target. To secure high uptime it requires that you continuously work with improvements of the rig, methods and processes. In your daily work you need to coordinate with others, both test engineers and rig mechanics and suppliers.

We are looking for you with academic degree within engineering. For success in this position it’s great to have knowledge and experience from measurement equipment. It’s considered as a plus to have a good vehicle knowledge and an interested in software simulation.

To do this we believe that you are customer focused with interest in, and talent for, problem solving to be able to deliver according to test plan. During periods you need to be able to handle many of these activities at the same time.

Truck and Rig Management is a member of the Feature Verification & Validation department within Volvo Group Trucks Technology. We serve Volvo Group Trucks and pour leading brands with a wide range of solutions within testing. We are responsible for managing several test rigs within FVV, ensuring that they are functioning correctly, asking for investments and implementing required updates. We also do preventive maintenance and calibration of measurement equipment.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. Engineering degree

• Knowledge and experience from measurement equipment is a merit

• Interested in software simulation

• Fluent in Swedish and English

• Truck and/or Bus Driving license is a merit

• Flexible, positive and open minded attitude
