Volvo Group Lead embedded software integration engineer in Göteborg, Sweden

The Volvo Group is committed to driving prosperity through transport solutions. Do you want to be part of it and actively contribute to our mission?

We are looking for engaged engineers with the skills, expertise and, more importantly, passion to develop technologies that will create value for our customers. Are you interested in the development and implementation of concepts for our future electrical and electronic architecture? Then you have here the possibility to take on exciting challenges in an organization committed to finding innovative solutions with state-of-the-art technologies.

The main focus of the group is the development of system-level technologies related to future versions of the electrical and electronic architecture. This means that we shall maintain a holistic perspective on the electronic architecture, rather than focusing on individual hardware or software components, and provide future product development projects with competitive solutions for the EE architecture. One aspect of this is to integrate different concepts into a common prototype that represents a future version of the EE system of a truck.

Job description

As a Lead embedded software integration engineer you will play a key role in integrating EE technologies developed in the whole department into a small set of common prototypes, either virtual or physical, that will serve as reference implementations for our future EE architectures. This includes responsibility of the prototypes themselves including potential support systems needed. In addition to this, you may also need to assist with system or software development tasks.

To be successful in this position you need to have a broad understanding and experience of a variety of concepts for Electrical and Electronic systems and preferably have previous experience of setting up and maintaining development, integration and verification environments. We also see that you have a genuine interest in exploring new technologies, a desire to be in the forefront of technology and have a creative and innovative mindset with the ability to drive things to completion.

Profile and qualifications

  • MSc in Computer engineering, Electrical engineering or equivalent

  • Experience of setting up and maintaining development, integration and verification environments

  • At least 4 years of experience in embedded programming of control functions

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

We are actively working to establish teams that will take maximum advantage of the strength inherent to differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender and nationality, among others. We find that well balanced work teams increase group dynamics, creativity and new approaches to solutions.
