Volvo Group Global Manufacturing Project Manager in Göteborg, Sweden

Position Summary

As a Global Manufacturing Project Manager (GMPM), you will be a key player in one or more complete bus or chassis product projects within Volvo Buses.

You will be parts of a project management team, and in that report to the Chief Project Manager (CPM) of the project. Your role in the project will be to lead and coordinate all manufacturing related activities and ensure a quality assured launch of the product or product change reaching agreed targets. You will lead a manufacturing project team and work in close cooperation with a variety of stakeholders within the VBC manufacturing system and the concerned plants e.g. Production, Industrial Engineering, Quality, Logistics etc. Within the project you will be responsible for delivering the industrial targets of the project.

You will be a part of a small team of GMPMs and within that you are also expected to contribute to the development of process and methods in the area.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the manufacturing part of product projects and report to the project CPM.

  • Manage the industrial project QDCF according to set targets

  • Report project progress and activities to the Industrial Reference group

  • Take an active role in developing future ways of working in the GMPM area

Personal Profile

You are a team player interacting through a broad network, having the skills to transfer high level prerequisites into project requirements and deliverables - as well as being comfortable to communicate and report project QDCF in steering committees and management teams on executive level. You have the ability to work cross functionally on a global level, and to prioritize and focus the project on the main areas contributing to a full delivery.


  • Experience of managing complex projects, with stakeholders from different functions, nationality and background.

  • Good understanding of the commercial vehicle industry.

  • Clear communication, verbally and in writing

  • Fluent in English, verbally and in writing

  • Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent
