Job description and main responsibilities

Flow Optimization and Inventory Planning is a new function within Logistics Services in the Volvo Group. We are now looking for people joining our team in Eskilstuna.

In this role, you will be part of a team working to ensure high quality forecasting and optimal theoretical mix of inventory and service for Volvo Construction Equipment. We are driving the sales and operations planning for the service market and as such take a multidisciplinary view of the supply chain operation. You will monitor, analyze and steer the supply chain from an operational level but also the opportunity to develop methods and processes for improving and innovating the planning process, this by combining traditional techniques with future technology.

  • Ambitious self-starter who enjoys a good challenge and creative problem solving with a high-level of own personal drive

  • Able to communicate effectively in English and Swedish with peers and senior management

  • Imports and exports good ideas and best practices

  • Ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Good knowledge in data analysis tools such as Excel/Access or similar

  • Communication: Aptitude to analyze and develop a deep and holistic understanding and be able to package it in ways that is responsive to different stakeholder groups

  • Demand Forecasting: Knowledge of demand forecasting techniques and inputs (e.g., business trends, seasonality, consumption patterns)

  • Demand Planning: Knowledge of specific supply chain capabilities, strategies and interdependencies to perform short and long-term planning both in terms of forecast and inventory. Ability to incorporate strengths, weaknesses, external opportunities and threats into planning strategies and execution tasks

  • Process Improvement: Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate efforts around process improvement. Ability to analyze business processes and develop systems-based solutions that will improve current state


  • At least 3 years from a post-secondary education (“eftergymnasial”) within logistics, mathematics/statistics or other relevant areas
